A Bridge of Beauty Between San Cataldo and Ferla: Chronicle of a Special Day

Date: May 3, 2026

There's an invisible thread that ties the villages of our Sicily together, made of tradition, art, and that sense of hospitality that makes us unique. Today, this thread has tightened even further: we had the immense pleasure of hosting a group of Francesca's friends, who came from the beautiful Ferla (SR) to discover the beating heart of our city.

It was an intense day, dedicated to wonder and sharing, which touched on the fundamental stages of our San Cataldese identity.

The Story of the Visit

The tour began amidst the color and craftsmanship of the ceramics in Piazza Calvario, where the local craftsmanship captivated our guests. From there, we moved into the historic center, the ancient heart of the city, and then ascended to the sky: the lookout from the Civic Tower offered a breathtaking view that, as always, leaves even those who experience it every day speechless.

Between Faith, Tradition and… Sweetness

Immersion in our religious and folk culture was a must. Ferla's friends were able to admire:

  • The majesty of the Mother Church.

  • The timeless charm of the Little Mysteries.

  • The imposing presence of the Sampaoloni, giants of our tradition.

And since hospitality also begins with the palate, we stopped at master pastry chef Sollami. The unique aroma and flavor of our 'ngiambelle sealed this friendship, bringing a little piece of San Cataldese sweetness into the hearts (and luggage) of our visitors.

"Hosting friends from other provinces is a source of pride for us. It's an opportunity to showcase how much San Cataldo has to offer in terms of history and human warmth."

See you soon

We sincerely thank Francesca and her guests for choosing to spend this Sunday with us. Your curiosity and enthusiasm are our greatest satisfaction.

The invitation is open: we look forward to seeing you again, in even greater numbers, to continue writing these beautiful pages of cultural exchange together.

San Cataldo awaits you with open arms!
