Pro Loco San Cataldo

San Cataldo, a city in central Sicily, is a very active urban center, culturally always striving to improve the quality of the society in which it lives.

Many cultural, social, and other organizations offer events and activities within their own boundaries. These range from religious events to theatrical performances, socially themed exhibitions, painting and sculpture exhibitions, historical and cultural analyses and insights, patron saint festivals, summer festivals, and local food festivals.

The Pro Loco di San Cataldo Aps tourist association, a member of UNPLI (Unione Pro Loco d'Italia), founded way back in 1956, stands alongside all the associations that work daily to achieve their social goals, putting the interests of the community before their own, sacrificing their time, which is often taken away from their families.

Many have succeeded one another in representing the Pro Loco in San Cataldo, which in ancient times, also thanks to public funding, contributed to the organization of events held in our charming city.

Among these, we remember the most recent ones: Carmelo Mosca, Salvatore Aprile, Salvatore Amico, Salvatore Pirrello. We thank them, along with those who preceded them, for their work

Today, this task falls to me, and I try to carry it out as well as I can, promoting all the events offered by the Associations, the Administration, and anyone who wants to be part of the Pro Loco d'Italia family.

I thank you for your unstinting and unstinting collaboration with the provincial UNPLI, chaired by President Loreto Ognibene, the regional UNPLI, of which I am proud to be a Councilor, and the national UNPLI, headed by our highly esteemed President, Antonino La Spina.

And then I thank all the citizens who collaborate with the world of associations, helping to create those moments of social growth that nourish the lives of each of us.

Historic center, prestigious churches, the Vassallaggi Archaeological Area, the Solfara Persico, in and with the Gabara Woods, monuments such as Piazza Calvario, the Church of Purgatory, the Church of Santa Lucia, the Church of San Giuseppe, the Altarpiece of the Capuchin Church, events such as Holy Week which closes with the papier-mâché giants of the "Sanpauluna", food festivals and celebrations such as the promotion of the "Nciambelli", the "Muffulette sancataldesi", baked sweets such as "cavatuna", "Fiori di Sicilia", the "pani vucciddattu"; and then in Sancataldo the food is good.
