"Verses in Verses" Poetry Contest

The competition is open to all and divided into two sections:

Section A – Italian Language

Section B – Sicilian Vernacular

📌 Regulations
Art. 1 – Participation

Each author can participate in only one section with only one poem.

The poem must be unpublished and no longer than 30 lines.

Art. 2 – Submission methods

Works can be submitted in paper form or by email:

Deliver a sealed envelope with the wording:
“Versi in versi Poetry Competition 2025 – Section _”
Inside:

3 anonymous typewritten copies

1 sealed envelope with the participation form (template attached)

Attach two separate files:

Text of the poem (unsigned)

Completed form (model attached)

Art. 3 – Delivery deadline

Deadline: September 20, 2025

Paper: hand delivery to the Pro Loco office during the following hours:

Monday, Friday, Saturday: 10:00 – 12:00

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Mail: The postmark will be considered valid. Works received after September 30, 2025, will not be accepted.

(the time indicated in the message is valid; confirmation of receipt will be sent)

For each section:

🥇 1st Prize – €200 + Certificate
🥈 2nd Prize – €120 + Certificate
🥉 3rd Prize – €50 + Certificate
📜 Honorable Mention – 4th place
📌 Special Mention – 5th place
🎓 Certificate of Participation for all competitors
📅 Awards Ceremony

📖 The top 5 poems ranked in each section will be read publicly.

The jury will be composed of qualified experts. The names will be announced on the day of the awards ceremony.
